Birgitte came to Australia from Denmark in 1957. At age 17 she pursued her decision to become a professional artist. She lived in Carrington, Newcastle for 20 years then moved to the top of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales. She now enjoys a very creative life in her colourful, controversial mural painted house in Blackheath.
Birgitte is available to undertake commissions for all aspects of art making anywhere in the world. Her range of media extends over many aspects with examples of her work displayed throughout this site. - Hand painted ceramic tile murals - Enduring enviromental art-design - Contextualised and specific community based art work - Figurative work - Large scale Trade Union banners and paintings. Birgitte is able to work to the design brief and budget constraints when working with architects and interior designers. Her work develops amazing audience participation.
Birgitte has renovated 4 houses incorporating various paint techniques, mural, ceramic tiles, door features, colour co-ordination, outdoor pond/fountain features and family history paintings.
A new development in Birgitte's art is large scale paper mache' sculpture. Examples of this type of medium will be displayed here at a later date.
